🍨 Beat the Heat: Meet The Gelato Lab
Triple-digit July calls for gelato. Tucked into Turtle Creek Market, The Gelato Lab is run by husband-and-wife team Andres Botero and Andrea Guzman, who make every batch in-house daily with milk, cream, and real fruit — no processed bases.
The best-seller is the Maracumango (fresh mangoes), and the Rainforest Chocolate is made with specialty chocolate straight from the Amazon. More than 24 flavors, plus gelato cakes, tiramisu, milkshakes, and banana splits — and a kids' corner with games and coloring that makes it a family hangout as much as a dessert stop.

🪨 Poll of the Week
Round Rock trivia: how did our town get its name?
That's a wrap for this week. Reply and tell us your go-to Gelato Lab flavor. See you next Wednesday! 👋

🪨 Trivia answer: the boulder! Back in 1854, our town was called "Brushy" — until the U.S. Postal Service asked postmaster Thomas Oatts to pick a new name to end confusion with another Brushy nearby. Oatts, who liked to fish Brushy Creek at the big round rock with blacksmith Jacob Harrell, made it official. His old post office still stands at 8 Chisholm Trail Road. Read the full story →
